Charming, historic building, beautifully situated amidst horse farms on the scenic road to Mt Greylock. Built in 1832 as a one-room schoolhouse – a function it served until 1950 — this charming and historic stone building has been given new life as a guest house. The first floor classroom contains the original blackboards and antique school furniture, and the tall windows offer wonderful light and views of horses, cows and mountains.
The first floor classroom contains a daybed which can be used as two twins or pushed together to be a king size bed. Upstairs is a very large, but cozy space containing a queen-sized poster bed and a twin bed, plus 2 available floor mattresses for kids, if needed. In addition, there is a kitchen and dining and living areas.
You will have the building to yourselves, and use of the private garden just outside the front door. You also have access to the back property (almost 5 acres). Berries to pick in the summer!
The central location affords easy access to all the Berkshires natural and cultural attractions. Mt. Greylock Visitor’s Center, Tanglewood, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Shakespeare and Company, Clark Art Museum, MassMOCA, Norman Rockwell Museum, Edith Wharton House, Arrowhead, Jiminy Peak Skiing and Adventure Center, Waubeeka Golf Course, Baker’s Mini-Golf and 3-Par, Donnybrook Golf Course, Skyline Golf Range, Kayaking and the list goes on.
